Thursdays with Tombow: Smashing the Zoo

Hi!! This week I am sharing a few pages of my Black Smash Book which I am using for my Smithsonian/Washington DC trips. The first pages are from the Smithsonian National Zoo.
For the strip of paper I used my Stamp Runner Adhesive and for the bird and boy in the bike I used the Mono Multi Liquid Glue.
I used washi tape to put the map in the page, this way I can see it from all angles, I did the same with the panda card so I can read the information behind it. I found this cool page in a Smash Pad and I matted it using the Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. If you click the photo to see it bigger you can see that it says Item and Rank of Coolness and I used it to rate a few of the exhibits in the Zoo.
See?? It opens the whole way.
On the second page I journaled a little about the Panda Exhibit. I also have a photo of the entrance and, the tag from a panda shirt I bought my daughter. For the photos I always use the Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive and I also used it for the journaling page and the girl in the car.
To glue the penny I used the Tombow Power Tabs. I used the same hinge technique for the tag on the shirt.
My second double page.
For all the papers and the Spirograph Embellishments I used the Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive but for the journaling tag I used the Mono Multi Liquid Glue and for the buttons I used the Power Tabs.
For the doily and the embellishments on it I used the mono Multi Liquid Glue. I only glued the butterflies in the center to curve their wings a little. A little tip: Use 3 elements of similar things to draw the eye to the photo.  I made a pocket with the doily so I could slip the Report Card from the Invertebrates Exhibition behind it.
Don’t forget to put these in your Smash Book Kit!!

Cool Snail Mail

How hot is it!!
Well our challenge this week is to be inspired by the
Summer colors: Yellow, Orange and Turquoise.
I made a little Summer Project Combo
to inspire you to send a little snail mail.

For my card I used the new stamp set Pun In The Sun which is available with FREE SHIPPING!! This is the set you need to make all your summer cards!!
DSCN3797.jpg DSCN3797

I also added some patterned paper to an envelope and the magic touch was the sentiments from the Lots Of Puns Set. On the bottom I used a sentiment of the new set Pun In The Sun.
For a little extra touch I faux stitched the envelope.

Happy Father's Day! A Late Tombow Project

**Happy Father's Day to all those awesome fathers like my husband!!**

This week at the Tombow USA Blog we are using gorgeous fabrics from the Saddle Up Collection by Samantha Walker.
Father’s Day is on Sunday!! If you don’t have cards for Father’s Day yet this is a cool idea!! I made two origami shirts that were really easy!! My recommendation is to use a thin cardstock or double sided pattern paper because it will be easier than using a thicker cardstock.
Yes, the shirts are very cute and you can even make origami neck ties but… They are so much cuter with fabric!! All I did was make an origami necktie and I covered it with fabric. And of course you need a handkerchief!!
How about a bow-tie?? For these cards I used the Saddle Up Flower Brown.  I didn’t make a stitch for both ties, I used the Mono Multi Liquid Glue and I was blown away by how well it works it works with fabric!! The faux stitching on these cards were made with the Tombow Dual Brush Pens.
Since the shirt is kind of heavy I used the Tombow Power Tabs, I think I overdid it because one tab holds up to 6 ounces, I probably didn’t need 5. Of course for the Peachy Keen Stamps Sentiment I used Tombow Foam Tabs.
For my last card I made a flower with the Ticking Blue Fabric and on the center I made a brad with my I Top and the Vignette Blue Fabric. The name of the collection on the side was a happy accident, I love the extra touch :0)
I glued the flower with the Mono Multi Liquid Glue and for the Joy’s Life Sentiment I used the Tombow Foam Tabs.
I always use the Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive to glue my paper.
I LOVE fabric and I hope you liked my card ideas!!
Take Care!!

My daughter turned 3 last month
and of course I had to make a layout!!

I made the date with my Dymo label maker and the
journaling sticker is from American Crafts.
I made the banner with Trendy Twine Grape Fizz Twine.

I used my Gypsy to weld the shadow
of the title with the shadow of number 3.
I LOVE how the faux stitching looks on the title.

These cupcakes are from a Momenta Paper and I just cut the circles, they make a nice embellishment :0)
All the pattern papers are from Momenta.
I also did some journaling about that day.

This sentiment is from the You're So Punny Stamp Set.

Keep On Wishing

I made this layout of my daughter trying
to blow one of those wishing weeds.
She couldn't really blow it so I told her to shake it.
The background paper is from My Mind's Eye.

The word wishing I made it with Momenta Alphas.
The flower is from the May Stamp Of The Month,
I paper pieced it using Momenta Papers. I wanted to use a kind of confetti all round the page and I used the little starburst and heart lightly around the page.

This is one of the cutest fairies ever!!
I just LOVE her!! I colored her with
 Tombow Dual Brush Pens.

I used an Action Wobble!! I am crazy about this!!
For the circles under the photo I used a one inch circle punch.

For my journaling I used an American Crafts Sticker and another flower from the May Stamp Of The Month
I doodled around the page making this scallop thingies.

I hope you enjoyed this layout!!
Take Care!!
