CHA Make and Takes with instructions!

CHA WAS AWESOME!!
I wish I could've taken all of you with me! I really do! But since I know many of you couldn't be there, here are the instructions for the make and takes I did while I was working at the Tombow USA Booth! Thanks to our partners: Fancy Pants Designs, My Mind's Eye, Jillibean Soup, Core'dinations, Walnut Hollow, Prima Marketing Inc., May Arts Ribbon, Sizzix, DCWV and Canvas Corp!

To make the inside of the matchbox use a piece of 5 ¼ inch x 6 ¾ inch paper. Score the paper at 7/8 inch on each side. *Tip: Score on the inside of paper (what will be the inside of the box). Make   horizontal cuts on the 5 ¼ inch x 6 ¾ inch paper but stop on the vertical score marks. Put the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive on the little squares on the outside so you can adhere them inside of the big rectangle. Create the outside of the box with a 10 x 5 inch piece of paper. Score at 1 inch, 4 ½ inch, 5 ½ inch and 9 inch. Apply Tombow Xtreme Adhesive to the corner of the score mark at 1 inch and adhere it to the inside of the big rectangle to create your box. Now decorate your box! Wrap the yellow tulle around the box and tie it in the front. Hold it in place using a Tombow Adhesive Dot. Use the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive on the back of the tag and place it on the box. Glue the burlap bow with a Tombow Xtreme Tough Tabs and glue a button on top using the Tombow Adhesive Dots.

Cut all the pieces for your book and fold them in half. Use a piece of paper to make a template for the holes on the spine. You are going to make holes at 1 ½ , 2, 2 ½ , 3 ½ , 4 and 4 ½ inches. Place this paper on the center of the bundle of pages and hold it with a paper clip while you make the holes using a paper piercer. Then remove the template to sew. To thread the twine, it helps to put a little bit of the Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue on the tip. Leave at least 3 inches of twine outside the third hole to make a bow at the end. Start sewing, from the outside of the spine you going to get in through the third hole (at 2 ½ inches). Once inside you go up a hole (at 2 inches), and when you are outside go in through the top hole (at 1 ½ inches). Then go back down to the 2 inch mark and go back in through the 2 ½ inch mark. Go out through the fourth hole (at 3 ½ inches), then back in to the one below (4 inches). Get back out through the last one, then up to the 4 inches hole and finally go out through the 3 ½ inches hole and tie a bow with the pieces of twine. Now decorate the brag book using the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive, glue the brag card, the tag and the ticket. Tie a bow on the twine on the tag and add a clothespin. To glue the flair button use the Tombow Xtreme Tough Tabs

Cut the gift bag using a Sizzix die. Fold the score marks and put the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive on the small flaps from the pieces on the side. Glue the flap from the bottom first and then mold the sides to the big part of the purse. Once it’s assembled decorate the bag with the Jillibean Card using the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive, then add the Prima Flower with the Tombow Adhesive Dot and finally add a few enamel dots.

Start by coloring the skin with the Irojiten Color Pencils using a soft circle motion. Start with the darkest color next to the hair. Then gradually use lighter colors. Don’t color the eyes and lips yet. Then use the 020 Peach Dual Brush Pen to blend the colors on the skin. For the makeup use the DL-06 Hummingbird as a liner, the DL-05 Verdigris under the eyebrow and the rest color in VP-05 Asparagus. For the lips, color with F-01 Plastic Pink between the lips and on the corner and color the rest with VP-02 Almond Blossom when you are done blend it all with a 761 Carnation Dual Brush Pen. Now move onto the hair, color the green strands of hair first and then color the brown portion of the hair make lines on the hair with the darkest color but just a portion of the hair (always leave a space without color so the next colors can look lighter) then using a lighter color pull that darker shade into it to blend it. At the end always use the lightest or scribble with the lightest shade you have on a Blending Palette and use the Colorless Blender to make an even lighter shade and use that at the end. Finally use the Tombow Adhesive Dots to glue the flowers and add the Crystals.

Tombow Foam Tape

Run the the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive on the wooden frame. *The Adhesive is very strong and running it through the cork might break it. Remove the backing from the cork and place it on the frame. Take the backing off the piece of trim and place it on top of the paper semicircle. Cut 1/8 pieces of the Tombow Foam Tape and place them around the bottom of the semicircle to create a pocket. Keep them close together. Once you are done place it in the bottom of the frame. Glue the die cut to the paper on the frame using the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive. *Don’t put the glue on the top part that floats above the frame. Finally add enamel dots.

Using the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive glue the paper on the paper bag and then add the day arrow die cut. Find a spot to put the cork doily and put the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive on the paper. *This glue is very strong if you put it on the doily you might break it. For the same reason you should use the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive on the die cut and then put it on top of the doily. Finally add enamel dots.

Using the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive glue the oval paper onto the wooden frame. Use the Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue to put the trim around the frame. Start at the bottom so you can’t see where they connect. Assemble the bow. Use the Tombow Xtreme Permanent on the center of the main piece and bend one of the sides to form the bow, apply more glue on the center and fold the other side. Take the smaller piece and apply Tombow Xtreme Permanent Adhesive to the back of the whole piece and fold it around the center of the main piece of the bow. Add this whole piece to the last piece using the Tombow Adhesive Dots. Finally add the whole bow to the frame using Tombow Xtreme Tough Tabs.
